Pink Roses

Roses can be a difficult flower to paint. For me, simplifying is the key. A lot of time was spent trying to omit petals and view the design in geometric shapes that began to look like roses. The McCoy pot was found at a local antique shop. Oil on linen 11" x 14".

Icicle Pansies

Last fall I purchased a flat of icicle pansies and planted them in my backyard. The colors were so vibrant that I just had to paint them. This is the finished piece. Oil on linen 8" x 10"

Sunset Beach - Cape May, NJ

Here my first attempt at a sea scape painting. Sunset Beach, located in Cape May, NJ, is one of my favorite places to take in a sunset. It is painted in oils on hardboard, 16" x 20".

The Painting was created from a few pictures a took of the actual sunset:

I added the water and moved the seagull to fit my impressionistic view of the sunset.
